Anthony was born Anthony Lamar Calhoun in Mart, Tx on December 18 1953. He was born to the union of Oscar & Geraldine Calhoun, the eldest of 5 boys.
Anthony grew up all over the world traveling with his family due to his father being in the army.
Anthony was a loving man and received his first bass guitar in Fort Hood, TX in 1969 and has been playing every since
On one of his father’s deployment in Germany Anthony decided to join the army, which kept him away from his family for awhile.
Once he returned to Texas he started playing bass for several bands in the Waco, TX area. He became popular on the local music scene going by Tony or Tonee Calhoun and everyone had the same unanimous comment of “That Man can Play that Bass!”
Some say he was the best bass guitar player in Texas if not one of the best in the United States, having had played with the late great B.B King.
Anthony leaves to cherish his life children Anthony Lamar Calhoun Jr, Derrick Young, Sir Anton Calhoun, Yaruba Calhoun, Kymm Calhoun, and Gabriella Calhoun.
He leaves one sister Wilda Calhoun, four brothers Bruce Calhoun, Rodney Calhoun, Gerald Calhoun, & Brian Calhoun.
He also proceeds his brother Donald Calhoun in death along with both of his parents Oscar & Geraldine Calhoun.
Anthony also leaves to cherish his memory of 18 grand children, 9 great grand kids, 2 Aunts, 2 uncles, hundreds of cousins, and millions of friends and fans.
