Lorraine Marie Schwinn Hawkins of Waco died Tuesday, November 19, 2019. She was 62 years old. The family will hold a private memorial observance. Details are pending.
Lorraine was born January 9, 1957, in San Jose, California to Maria “Mary” Bellizzi Schwinn and Lloyd Henry Schwinn.
She grew up in San Jose and graduated from Branham High School. She studied business at West Valley College in Los Gatos, Calif.
She and her husband Curtis “C.C.” Hawkins were together for 41 years. They spent most of their early years together living and working in Los Gatos. In more recently years, they lived in Las Vegas, Nevada. She worked in the tax preparation industry and was an office manager, while her husband worked in the electronics industry. She also supported his love of music and work as a drummer. After a brief return to California, theymoved to Waco a little over a year before her passing.
She collected frog items and enjoyed cooking, baking and reading, especially Stephen King novels. She also enjoyed science fiction books and movies. She was a highly generous person. She and her dog, Scrappy, spread sunshine around the neighborhood on their daily walks.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include brothers Jeff and wife Barbara of Sheldon, Missouri, David and wife Nancy of Woodway; and Paul of California; nephews Philip and Kevin Schwinn of California; Stephen Schwinn of Oklahoma; nieces Nichole Schwinn of California; Michele Asquith of Lorena and Lorraine Tenielle Boyens of Abilene.
