Obituary

Steven Earl Lowder, age 66, beloved husband, son, brother, father, and grandfather, died Thursday, December 19, 2019 Providence Hospice Center in Waco, Texas.  He was born in Asheville, North Carolina to James and Ruth Lowder and was the youngest of four children. After graduating from Hickory High School, he served in the US Army in Germany where he met his first wife Elizabeth Ann Ricks.  They had a wonderful 33 years of marriage until her passing in 2008. They raised their three children to love God and their country. He married Karla Morris in 2009 whom he adored until his passing. 

His greatest joys included hunting, fishing, camping, riding his Harley Davidson, the beach, singing and entering into praise and worship, and touring this country from Alaska to the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico.  As an ordained minister, Steven was a shining example of God's grace. He could make anyone laugh and told the best stories. 

Steven was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elizabeth, his son Zebulon. He is survived by his second wife Karla Lowder, his children Alanda(Nathan) Strutz, Noah (Allison) Lowder and Kyra Joelle Lowder, step-children Kelly Morris, and Eric Morris, four grandchildren Samantha, Jude, Aubri, and Elly, and three step-grandchildren Asher, Emery and Cohen, two sisters, Cathy M. Lowder, Chris (Sam) Allred, and one brother James F. Lowder. 

 

A Celebration of Life service for Steven will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at River of Life Fellowship,108 County Rd. 3625, Clifton, Tx 76634 at 10:30 am.
