Amy LaVara Lewis born Amy Lavara Landrum was born to Hubert and Willie Pearl Landrum on June 28, 1956.
She was birthed and given back to the Lord at a very young age while attending the Church of God in Christ in Chilton, Texas, where she grew up and flourished. In her later years, she became an active member at Jude Tabernacle COGIC and now Benson Memorial COGIC in Chilton, Texas.
She attended the local school in Chilton Texas. She had a passion to cook for her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. She decided since that was her passion she would become certified and she went on to obtain her OSHA Certification and Culinary Certification from TSTC in 2012.
Later in Life LaVara met and married Dock Nathaniel Lewis. They were married on 20 August 1997.
LaVara was preceded in death, by her parents, Hubert and Willie Pearl Landrum. She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter Taiwain Landrum of Chilton, one son Kenya NaiRobie Landrum of Huntsville, nine siblings, Jack (Natalie) Landrum of Chilton, Carla (Leon) Minniefield of Gholson, DeTonya Necol Tulsie of Arlington, Rosie Rueda of Waco, Hubert Zazueta of Killeen, Ronnie Landrum and Richard (Jackie) Landrum of DeSoto, Genary (Kenneth) Knight of Waco, Chris Bailey of Austin, Shay (Kenneth) Bailey of Marlin, Jackie (Lorenzo) Davis and Silas Bailey of Waco.
She was enthralled in the rearing of her grandchildren Travis Landrum of Chilton, ShaTobia Landrum of South Carolina, Mantraze Landrum of Henderson, TySomolia Garner of Houston, Tedavon (Clarence) Penny of Chilton and Zyrobia Landrum and Kenya Landrum Jr. of Waco. She also leaves 7 great grandchildren and host of nieces and nephews that she held near and dear to her heart as well as family and friends.
