On December 17, 1935, Betty Joyce Green was born to the parents of Edward and Myrtle Green in Willow Green, Texas. She was one of ten siblings. Betty accepted Christ at an early age while she attended Willow Grove Baptist Church. She was a faithful member for several years. She even sang in the choir.
She attended school there and also went to A.J. Moore High School and graduated. Betty went on to work for Hillcrest Hospital for thirty-seven years as a devoted CNA. She was loved by all she came in touch with.
Betty loved her family and always could make them laugh. She enjoyed having family get-togethers. Betty loved cooking and baking for her family, especially around the holidays. Betty also loved playing on her piano. She learned on her own and played by ear. Betty enjoyed knitting but her passion was shopping. She passed this hobby on to her daughters, Vicki and Sam.
