Cedric Eugene Kennedy was born on April 18, 1957 in Waco, Texas to Eva Lois Kennedy and Samuel Lee Beals. He was the second of five children.
Cedric graduated from Richfield High School in 1975. He then attended McLennan Community College before joining the United States Air Force in January of 1976. He served 8 years and was honorably discharged in 1983.
Cedric had a love for everyone. He enjoyed riding horses, motorcycles and his big rig truck. In 2010 his greatest accomplishment was when he gave Jesus his heart. As he traveled all over the United States he was always in awe of the beauty and goodness of God. From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, he always would say, “God’s beauty is everywhere. I ride 1 mile at a time, me and the Lord.”
Cedric was affectionately known as the Silver Fox over the highways and to family and friends. Cedric loved his family, was full of energy and he never met a stranger. His smile would always shine through.
Cedric joined Mount Olive Baptist Church in April 2021 under the leadership of Rev. James P. Thompson. He loved being in the house of the Lord listening to God’s Word. He loved to fellowship with the Men’s Sunday School Class, hearing the Male Chorus sing and just sitting in the church sanctuary listening to the Word of God.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Eva Lois Kennedy, father Samuel Lee Beals, and two brothers Antonio (Tony) Kennedy and Walter Ray Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memories Terri Eaton (Special Friend), a son, Cedric Dixon of Killen, sister Carolyn (James) McKinley of North Richland Hills, brothers Jerry Kennedy and Glen Beals of Waco, and Samuel Kennedy of Dallas, step mom Margaret Beals and one aunt Joyce Mims of Waco, three granddaughters and a God-daughter, Karen Latonya Gouch of Louisiana, best friends Dwight (Butch) Seals of Arlington, Kirk West of Florida and Darrell Hood of Waco and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and all that have traveled with him on his journey
