Cornelius Joe Brown, Jr. “Buffalo”was born on March 30, 1954 to the parents of the late Cornelius Sr. and Maxine Brown of Waco, Texas. Cornelius was the third of five children. He was a proud member of the Jefferson-Moore High School football team and first graduating class in 1972. He then went on to receive a certificate in Business at a local downtown business school. In 1974, Cornelius joined the United States Army as an Infantryman with tours in South Carolina and Germany. Cornelius lived his life as a proud veteran who fulfilled a civic duty of protecting and serving his country.
Cornelius was a social and humorous man, who went above and beyond assisting members of the community. Cornelius shared his wealth of knowledge with everyone by challenging random facts, history, and sports. Above all things he was always right. He really treasured his granddaughters and made it a point to share stories and went out of his way to ensure their happiness.
Cornelius was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius Brown Sr., Maxine Brown and brother, Paul Smith.
Cornelius is survived by his daughter, Shiwan Pearson(Brent); five granddaughters, Zynecia, Brittany, Kenya, Joylynn and Ahmyah Pearson; a great grand daughter, Aliah Gordon; sisters, Joyce Evans and Debbie Kay White; brother, Ezzard Charles Smith(Mary) and a host of devoted aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and numerous friends.
