Esther Mae Ervin

October 13, 1941 ~ September 12, 2020 (age 78)


Esther Mae Ervin (NaNa) was born October 13, 1941 in Eddy, Texas to the late W.C. Fulbright and Irma Lee Hibbler-Fulbright.

She was baptized at an early age at Mt. Rose Baptist Church by Joe L. Campbell. She later moved to Waco at an early age. She became a member of New Mt. Oliver Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. William H. Gayle, currently under the leadership of Ara Lee Rauls, Jr. She devoted her time as a Youth Sunday School Teacher, Youth Bible School Teacher, she sang in the Adult Choir, Morning Announcements, and anywhere else needed to lend a helping hand.

Esther attended A.J. Moore High School and graduated in 1959. She attended McLennan Community College where she received her certificate as a Certified Nurse Assistant. She worked for Texas A&M Expanded Nutrition for 15 years, as a nutritionist, 18 years at EOAC Head-Start as the Health Nurse, Nursing Assistant, CPR Instructor, and First Aid Instructor before retiring.

She married Jimmie Lee Ervin (deceased) in 1960, married for 14 years. They had three beautiful children, Darrell L. Ervin, and twins Adrian (Corkie)Ervin and Andrea(Cookie)Ervin.

Esther was preceded in death by both parents, brother Odell Freeman, son Adrian Ervin , and great- granddaughter CaZiah Ervin.

She leaves to cherish her memories: son Darrell L. Ervin Sr. and daughter Andrea ( Cookie) Mathis (Derrick) both of Waco, TX; brother Melvin Hibbler ( Cheryl)
of Atlanta, GA; Magnificent 7: Reka, Devon, Dana, DeBuBBa(lil Darrell), DeMarea, Adrian and Dazzling Dez all of Waco, TX; Great-Grandchildern: Shantajhia Carr, James Williams III, DeQuauvhion Ervin all of Waco, TX, DéPraySheion Davis of Georgetown, TX, Tydarius Davis -Harris of Crowley, TX, Dalynn Houston, Kana Houston both of Lancaster, TX, DiAviona Hatter-Ervin of Austin, TX; Great-Great-Grandchildren: Avalynn Smith, Aislynn Smith, Ayden Davis, Karter Harris; a host of nieces, newphews, aunts, sister-in-laws, cousins and friends.
