Ms. Odessia Mae Ganious was born to Mr. and Mrs. Sutton (Mable) Ganious on December 29, 1929. She was raised in Houston, Tx and later moved to Waco, Tx where she met and married Alvin Lee Davison. They were blessed in their union with 5 children; Mae Francis Davis, Berry L. Davis, Jerry L. (Gloria) Davis, Gloria Davis, and Ella Davis.
Odessia was a hard working woman that loved the Lord and her family. She leaned and depended on God in order to raise her children as well as help raise her grandchildren. She knew the power of Prayer. In her later years, she could always be found reading and studying the Bible. She believed wholeheartedly in 2 Timothy 2:15- “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Odessia loved her family dearly. She never let her limitations limit her. She led and taught by example.
Mother Ganious, as she was affectionately called by church members, was a faithful member of Lovingkindness Ministries for over 20 years. Her faith and family was her most prized possession. Her heart was very kind and she exemplified true selflessness. Walking in the way of the Lord was important to Odessia because she knew that one day she would have to leave for her eternal home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sutton and Mable Ganious; her husband Alvin L. Davison; her sisters Ethel M. Gooden and Izetta Ganious; her brothers Arthur Ganious, Roy Ganious, Tom and Sherman.
She leaves to cherish her memory her 5 children, 3 grandchildren- James Davis, Michelle (Ivory) Davis, Angela (RJ) Davis; 8 great grandchildren-James Davis Jr , Jackson Davis, Robert Majors Davis, Tyerrion Lancelin, Jai'veion Majors Davis, Adrian Davis, Carter Davis, and Cattaleya Davis. Also to cherish her memory are Rozetta Davis, Taneisha(Neisha)Lambert, Donna Davis, Draylin Byrd, LKM Church family and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
