Phillip Patrick Perry was born on February 22, 1971, in Nuremberg, Germany to loving parents Billie and Fannie Perry. During his time in the Houston, Texas area, Phillip married Angela on September 17, 1998.
Phillip was a 1989 Waco High School graduate and a member of the school’s basketball team and the Band.
Phillip was a Marine Corps veteran who worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Aldine ISD and Lamar Consolidated ISD.
He moved to Waco in 2011 to work as an assistant principal at Waco High School for two years. He worked as a youth sports referee in his spare time, volunteering often at the Dewey Park Recreation Center across the street from his childhood home. Phillip had served as the school’s principal at the G.W. Carver Middle School since May 2019 after working as the school’s assistant principal from 2013 to 2015. He served as principal of Fred Edwards Academy in Temple in 2015.
Phillip was a graduate of 2017-18 Leadership Temple. He graduated from TX Southern with his Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice 1999 and Masters in public administration 2004.
Phillip was raise in church at Church of the Living God. When he returned to Waco, Phillip faithfully attended Carver Park Baptist Church until his death.
Gone but never forgotten, Phillip departed this life on March 31, 2020. Phillip leaves to cherish his loving memory, his parents, Billie and Fannie Perry; his siblings, Beverly Harris and Marie McNeal (Douglas), both of Dallas, TX, Christopher Perry, Corsicana and Gwen Vanzandt (Kenneth), of Tyler, TX, Michael Perry, and Jessica Perry-Alexander (Michael) of Waco, TX.
His children, Pierra, Paigge, Octavia, Braluhn, Jasmine, Jeremy, Javion, Colbe, Serenity, Britney, Javon, and JaMarcus, Grandchildren: Kyael, Nyla, Leilany, Amir, Rayshawn and Antwan as well as a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, neighbors, co-workers and students.
