Robert Perry was born on January 2, 1944 in Marlin, Texas to Luther B. and Annie Mae Perry. He departed this life on March 12, 2021 in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Robert joined church at Mt. Zion Baptist Church at an early age where his Pastor was Rev. Humble. He went to school in Kosse, Texas as a young man. He spent a life of driving truck across the United States and enjoyed it. He has lived in Texas, Arkansas, and New Mexico. He made his home in Burkburnett, Texas. He left home at an early age and lived his life to the fullest. He never met a stranger and always met a friend. He was best known to his friends by his nickname of “Doughboy”. He was the domino KING and he was so serious when he played. He also enjoyed playing cards, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed cooking and he loved his family. Any one can tell you that this was the one person in the family that kept up with all of his friends and family.
He leaves to mourn 7 children: Rhonda Perry, Derrick (Denise) Clay, Chris (Shari) Perry, Jason Perry, Rasheta Perry, Ra’ Ven Perry and Luther Perry, one sister Mattie Carter, Midland, TX, three brothers, William (LaShell) Perry, Norman, OK, Raymond (Nettie) Perry, Port Arthur, Billy (Rosetta) Perry, Grand Prairie, TX, also his Life-Long Friend of 56 years Mr. Leroy “Rabbit” Bowen, numerous grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sonya Green Perry, his Parents, his brothers, Luther Perry, Jr., L.B. Perry, Sr., Earlene Ryan, Hazel Perry, Dorothy Perry Tyre, Lillie Mae West, JoAnna Henderson, and Alice Cofer
