Rose Spratt, Sr. was born September 16, 1937, to Mr. Crawford Spratt and Mrs. Willie Mae Hollis Spratt in McLennan County, TX.
Both parents preceded him in death.
His name is Rose Spratt, Sr, but he is known as "Whimpy" to all his family and friends.
Rose, Sr. was baptized by Rev. J.K. Brooks on August 27, 2005, at Greater Calvary Baptist Church. He was a truck driver at Red Arrow Freight for many years until it went out of business. He then became a manager at General Tire until it relocated. He was also employed at Modern Furniture until his health began to diminish.
He will be remembered for his friendly personality. There wasn't anyone he pretty much didn't know in Waco.
His siblings, two sisters: Barbara Greene and Mary Etta Wright, and two brothers: Charles Spratt and Crawford Spratt, all preceded him in death. His wife of 38 years, Mary Ann Kennedy Spratt, also preceded him in death. He was passionate about his family.
He leaves to cherish his memory: one son: Rose Spratt, Jr.; three daughters: Debra Spratt Long (Willie), Rose Marie Nwakamma (Julian) of Willowbrook, IL, and Cynthia Jones of Red Oak, TX; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.
A very special heartfelt thank you to Sonia Carbajal, his devoted caregiver whom we came to love as a sister.
