Wife / Mother / Grandmother / Friend
Susie Mae Thompson was born on January 4, 1956, in Schulenburg, Texas to Anderson Thompson, Sr. and Annie Bell (Adams) Thompson. She grew up in Schulenburg and was a 1974 graduate of Schulenburg High School. Susie and Don Young married on March 26, 1983, and have been together for over 41 years. She worked in the services industry, but her main role was a mother and wife to her family. She and her husband raised two boys of their own. However, she was always babysitting or helping others with their young children. Susie picked up the hobby of buying and reselling items. There was not a clothing store, thrift store, consignment shop, or garage sale that was safe from her. On Saturday mornings, various friends would come by to pick her up to go garage selling for the day. Also, she and Don were frequent users of public transportation, and this allowed them to meet and make lifelong friendships. Susie loved the Lord and going to church was a way for her to make even more lifelong friendships. Susie, loved to laugh and spending time with her family, grandchildren, friends, and church members. She loved helping others, she had a servant’s heart, and she was always devoted to giving to her grandkids, nieces, nephews, children, and husband.
